Abstract:

Urinary tract infection(UTI) is one of the most common bacterial infections. Because UTI is usually characterized by atypical symptoms, accurate diagnosis and early treatment are important for preventing septicemia and improving long-term prognosis. The current diagnosis of UTI is based on clinical symptoms combined with clinical laboratory determinations. Urinary culturing is the gold standard for the diagnosis of UTI,and it has the disadvantages of low positive determination rate and time-consuming,which is unable to meet clinical needs. Therefore, finding new biomarkers of UTI is of clinical significance. Several potential biomarkers of serum and urine are reviewed.
