Abstract:

Objective To investigate the role of vascular endothelial injury in the development of microvascular complications in type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM)patients. Methods Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to determine for soluble endothelial protein C receptor(sEPCR) and soluble thrombomodulin(sTM) levels in 150 type 2 DM patients and 150 healthy subjects(healthy control group). Results Compared with healthy control group, the levels of sEPCR and sTM in DM patients increased(P<0.05). Conclusions The levels of sEPCR and sTM have correlations with the occurrence and severity of vessel diseases in DM patients, which can be biomarkers for evaluating endothelial function.
