Abstract:

Due to the increasing prevalence of multi-drug resistant bacteria(MDR) and the limited options for treating these infections, the detection of interactions between antimicrobial drugs has become research hotspots in the past decade. The in vitro synergistic drug susceptibility test can provide whether there is a synergistic effect between 2 or more antimicrobial drugs and provide a reference for clinic in choosing a combination of antimicrobial drugs. Among the various in vitro methods of drug interaction, the time-kill assay(TKA),the checkerboard(CB) assay, the E test and the disc-based method are the most used. In this review, the above methods were summarized to provide a reference for clinical application.
