Abstract: Objective To investigate the distribution and antibiotic resistance of pathogens isolated from blood specimens of neonates. Methods Biphasic blood culture bottle was used to culture the blood of the neonates. Isolated strains were identified, and their drug sensitivity tests were completed by VITEK 32 system. Results The results showed that Gram-positive cocci accounted for 70.6%,in which Staphylococcus epidermidis accounted mainly, and Gram-negative bacteria accounted for 28.4%. Gram-positive cocci were sensitive to vancomycin, and Gram-negative bacteria were sensitive to carbapenem. Conclusions The antibiotic resistance determination of pathogens isolated form blood specimens of neonates should be paid attention. Choosing rational antibiotics can reduce the antibiotic resistance and improve the clinical curative effect.
