Abstract: Objective To investigate the infection of extended spectrum beta-lactamases(ESBLs)′ bacterium in faeces from patients of Shanghai Pudong New Area People′s Hospital, which is helpful to control the nosocomial infection.   Methods ESBLs were screened and determined by flat test among healthy subjects and patients in the hospital. Results A total of 10.9% of healthy subjects′ faeces had ESBLs,and the positive rate was 76.8% of patients′ faeces with ESBLs in the hospital. There was statistical significance between them(P<0.01). Conclusions The positive rate of ESBLs′ bacterium in patients′ faeces in the hospital is much higher than that in healthy subjects′ faeces, and it is a latent risk factor of nosocomial infection.
