Abstract: Objective To study the influence of different ages and sex on thromboelastography(TEG) parameters[K(fibrinogen reaction time),R(clotting time),α angle(the grow rate of blood clot)and MA(maximum amplitude thrombus)],and to provide a reference for establishing appropriate reference intervals of TEG parameters. Methods A total of 2 935 healthy subjects were enrolled, and their TEG parameters were collected as research data. The cases were classified according to different ages and sex. The influence of different ages and sex on TEG parameters was evaluated. Results Among the 2 935 healthy subjects, there was no statistical significance for the parameter of K in different sex groups(P>0.05). There was statistical significance in different sex groups for the parameters of R,α angle and MA(P<0.01). Between <30-year-old and >40-year-old males, there was statistical significance for R,MA and α angle(P<0.01). Between 31-40-year-old and the other age females, there was statistical significance for K,MA and α angle(P<0.01). Between 31-40-year-old females and males, there was statistical significance for TEG parameters(P<0.01). Conclusions TEG parameters are influenced by various ages and sex. The reference intervals of TEG parameters in adults should be established practically.
