Abstract:

Objective To investigate the consistency of routine blood items' results in different grades of hospitals in Shanghai. Methods Totally,2 batches of weak fixed fresh whole blood samples were transported to clinical laboratories in different grades of hospitals as required. Each batch was required determining for 5 times. The results, including the items of white blood cell(WBC) count, red blood cell(RBC) count, hemoglobin(Hb),hematocrit(HCT) and platelet(PLT) count, were analyzed statistically. Results The coefficients of variation of WBC count,RBC count,Hb,HCT and PLT count were 3.80%-6.11%,1.22%-2.72%,0.96%-2.87%,2.54%-4.05% and 3.21%-7.25%,respectively.Conclusions The results of routine blood items of hospitals in Shanghai, especially those of Grade 2 or above, show good comparability and consistency.
