Role of plasma D-dimer level in breast cancer patients

Abstract:

Objective To investigate the role of plasma D-dimer（DD） level in patients with breast cancer.Methods Plasma DD levels of 98 patients with breast cancer（breast cancer group） and 100 healthy subjects（healthy control group） were determined by immune nephelometry. The relations between plasma DD level and clinical stages,metastasis and prognosis of breast cancer patients were analyzed statistically.Results The levels of plasma DD were higher in breast cancer group than those in healthy control group（P<0.01）. The levels of plasma DD had relations with different clinical stages and metastasis（P<0.05）. The levels of plasma DD in human epidermal growth factor receptor-2（HER-2） positive patients were higher than those in HER-2 negative patients（P<0.05）.Conclusions Plasma DD levels are related with clinical stages and metastasis in breast cancer patients,which can be used for the auxiliary diagnosis of breast cancer.
