Abstract:

Objective To compare 3 methods of venous blood collection, and to investigate the optimal method of venous blood collection. Methods A total of 600 outpatients were enrolled and randomly classified into 3 groups,Group A,B and C. Group A used traditional tourniquet for venous blood collection. For Group B,using traditional tourniquet, when seeing blood back, tourniquet was undone. Group C did not wear a tourniquet, and used infrared vein visual instrument. Results One-time puncture rate in venous blood collection, the incidence of skin congestion and pain index had statistical significance among the 3 groups (P<0.05). Group C had the highest one-time puncture rate and the lowest incidence of skin congestion and pain index. Hemolysis rates had no statistical significance among the 3 groups (P>0.05).Conclusions No tourniquet venous blood collection using infrared vein visual instrument can improve the success rate of puncture, improve specimen quality and relieve pain.
